Does Size Matter?

When it comes to diaper bags… YES! Size matters.

We asked our followers what they pack in their diaper bags.  One of them stated, “Everything but the kitchen sink it seems like for packing a 2 year old and a 7 month old.”  They are not kidding.

If you need a checklist, here’s a good diaper bag checklist for you.

  1. Diapers: Parents usually pack enough diapers to last for a few hours, as well as a spare in case of accidents.

  2. Wipes: Parents pack wipes to clean their baby's skin and to clean up messes.

  3. Changing pad: Some diaper bags come with a built-in changing pad, or parents may pack a portable changing pad to use when changing their baby's diaper.

  4. Extra clothes: Parents pack extra clothes for their baby in case of spills, leaks, or accidents.

  5. Toys and entertainment: Parents pack toys and other items to keep their baby entertained during outings.

  6. Snacks: Parents pack snacks for their baby, such as puffs, crackers, or fruit, to keep them nourished during the day.

  7. Bottles or sippy cups: Parents pack bottles or sippy cups with milk, formula, or water to keep their baby hydrated.

  8. Pacifiers: Parents pack pacifiers to soothe and calm their baby, if they use them.

  9. Sunscreen: Parents pack sunscreen to protect their baby's skin from the sun's harmful rays.

  10. Changing supplies: Parents pack additional changing supplies, such as diaper cream and disposable bags for dirty diapers.

And if you’re nursing, pumping, or still in the formula phases…

  1. Pump equipment and sanitary wipes: There are many pieces of equipment for your breast pump; including wipes or other items to keep the equipment sterilized.

  2. Icepack: If you’re planning to be out for more than 4 hours, you will need a place to keep your milk at a safe temperature.

  3. Formula and distilled water: Parents need to keep formula and distilled water separated in the diaper bag, unless they have a way to keep the milk at a safe temperature.

  4. Bottle warmer: Parents need a bottle warmer to warm their baby’s milk.

  5. Burp cloth or towels: Parents need to be prepared for baby’s indigestion and the many messes kids have.

Okay, let’s be real…

Do you think all of this stuff can fit in a typical 16 inch diaper bag?  Good luck with that!  Not to mention if you have more than one kid, or are a parent of multiples (twins). Also notice that we didn’t include anything that YOU need as a parent, like an extra shirt if your child spits up on you.

Well, we have taken all of these things into consideration and have designed a diaper bag backpack to accommodate EVERYTHING you need and more!
